• Prophets: communicators of God’s Word
  • Revealers of the truth and wisdom of scripture
• Evangelists: the announcers of the Good News
  • God has raised Jesus from the dead.
  • Forgiveness for those who repent and serve Jesus as Lord.
  • The Kingdom of God is present
  • Jesus is returning as Lord.
• And pastor teachers: shepherds, teachers and trainers of the people of God

with a specific task

• The ‘apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastor teachers’ do their task, and…
• God’s people are encouraged to do theirs.
  • Works of service – in every sphere of life
  • All to the glory of God
  • Serving in humility and consideration and gentleness

All of us are Chosen for Maturity

• to build up the body of Christ…
  • In quality and quantity
  • A ‘together-strength’
• to reach unity…
  • all working with the Holy Spirit
  • to bring praise to Jesus
• becoming mature…
  • attaining to the full measure of Christ
