Church membership is the means by which we commit ourselves to walk with others who share the journey of following Jesus.
- A shared love for God.
- A prerequisite of Church membership is that we have come to a point in our lives where we have decided to be a disciple of Jesus.
- As disciples of Jesus we journey with others in community and not in isolation.
- A shared relationship with one another.
- The starting point and on-going strength of Church membership is relationship.
- We form relationships with one another on the basis that we belong to each other as we seek to follow Jesus together.
- These relationships see us through both the good times and the bad times.
- We commit ourselves to be with one another on our journey of following Jesus.
- A shared mission
- Membership of Evesham Baptist Church means that we share the desire to communicate Jesus to the people all around us.
- We do this in many and differing ways over the years, but the central desire remains.
- A sharing of gifts and abilities
- Membership means that we share ourselves and our abilities where we can, to serve others and encourage love for God.
- We also commit ourselves to give financially as generously as we are able to support and encourage the mission of the Church.
- A shared acceptance of difference and diversity
- We are all different. Our needs and our perspectives often differ. But ‘bearing with one another in love' we accept one another - as God has also accepted us - as a sign of the Kingdom of God
